"I was able to go to Pilates through the 35th week of my second pregnancy. During my first pregnancy, I suffered from back pain, and swelling in my legs and feet. The exercises Phyllis amended for me throughout the pregnancy proved incredibly helpful; despite the fact that my second baby was much larger, I had little back pain and swelling was minimal. Phyllis not only helped me to feel better, but also to maintain my weight through much of the pregnancy. "I began Pilates training with Phyllis at the beginning of my second trimester - once a week for two months, then twice a week for the duration of the pregnancy. Phyllis was able to modify the exercises to match my diminishing strength, endurance and flexibility. And increasing size! My labor was fairly easy (first baby) and my doctor told me that I was an excellent pusher. I attribute that to the strong core that Pilates gave me. I admit to gaining 35 pounds during the pregnancy ( I had a bad habit of getting milkshakes after workouts.) However, I was back into my pre-pregnancy clothes within ten days! I started Pilates again once the baby was eight weeks old, though I'm not able to be as consistent as I was during the pregnancy, My baby is now six months old, and while I'm not completely back to my pre-pregnancy firmness, I weigh ten pounds less than I did when I got pregnant!"

Phyllis is an excellent Pilates instructor! She is very patient. She explains the exercises in detail making sure I'm doing them correctly. I've dropped a few pant sizes since I've been doing Pilates with her. Pilates has helped to reduce my blood pressure. I feel firmer and have more energy. Phyllis is a wonderful Pilates teacher. She's encouraging and relaxed. She works to keep workouts fresh and interesting. I always felt like I worked better and became stronger and more confident after our sessions than if I had worked without her expertise.
