Your body is the vehicle that takes you through life. It was built for ease and is capable of efficient movement. Your Life style (work, social, psychological, spiritual)places demands on your body which require attention. If you neglect your body, your a “no body”. Be a whole body!
“In 10 sessions, you will feel better, in 20 sessions you will look better, and in 30 sessions you will have a whole new body,”– Joseph H. Pilates, founder of Pilates.
Joseph Pilates intended to call his method of exercise “contrology”.
“Contrology is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit. Through Contrology you first purposely acquire complete control of your own body and then through proper repetition of its exercises you gradually and progressively acquire that natural rhythm and coordination associated with all your subconscious activities.”

About Joseph Pilates
Founder of Pilates
Joseph H. Pilates is the founder of the Pilates method of body conditioning. Joe was born in Germany in 1880. As a child he suffered from asthma, rickets and rheumatic fever. This was the beginning of his lifetime pursuit of physical fitness. In his determination to strengthen his body, he observed different styles of exercise: Greek and Roman regimens along with Zen and yoga. He believed “Physical fitness to be the first requisite of happiness”. And that, “our interpretation of physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind, fully capable of naturally, easily and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.”
